New UI for Twenga
Twenga has rolled out a new user interface, available on most of the markets where it operates, including FR, UK, US… Overall, a lightened and streamlined interface that brings a fresh air to Twenga. (Very) quick review:
- New site header with cleaner layout, a more proeminent search. “Twenga, the biggest choice online” as the new strapline, but no explicit mention to shopping on this header… which can be confusing for users…
- Search result pages and category pages are now available in grid view. A roll-over brings some details including sharing options (Facebook, Twitter). Clicking on a “more info” link brings a new modal window with more details, with the ability to like the brand and like the store. Filters are now on the left-hand side. Overall a nice design, less cluttered than the previous one, but visually quite similar to TheFind in the US… Imitation, sincerest form of flattery?
- On search result pages / category pages, the previous design used to highlight “sponsored results” above other results. Those mentions disappear in the new design, even if those sponsored results are still available as the first results in the grid view. This makes the UI simpler, but is not really transparent for users… Strangely those mentions are kept on the product pages (surely because the rest of the results are sorted by price).
- The filtering options on the right-hand side are pretty effective – but there is strangely no price range… Weird.
