Twenga to launch its iPhone version

December 15, 2008

Accessoweb has the first screenshots of the upcoming iPhone version of Twenga:

From the screenshots and the video on the Accessoweb article, this new iPhone app brings a product search; technical details, best prices and reviews for each product; and “add to my selection” option. So far, it doesn’t seem to use advanced iPhone features like the GPS (i.e: to bring local results like the iPhone app from TheFind) or the camera (i.e: to take a photo of a barcode or a product to launch product search). Without such advanced features, I wonder what are the benefits of developing a iPhone app vs developing a XHTML-based mobile site (like Kelkoo Mobile); any idea?

Maybe because the iPhone UI will provide a much more better user experience than a basic old fashion XHTML site. As far as I'm concerned, I prefer to use native apps vs browsing on my iPhone. Looking forward to testing this app as soon as it comes live on appstore. It looks nice on the screenshots !
