TheFind.com Beta is launched

October 19, 2006

I’ve just received a mail to indicate TheFind.com Beta is now live:

We are excited to invite you to the beta release of our new shopping search engine, TheFind.com! We are building an entirely new shopping search experience – one that is comprehensive, unbiased, relevant and efficient – visit us at http://www.thefind.com to check us out.

Did you know that most shopping sites today only show you products from stores with whom they have paid relationships, and rank products based on who pays them the most? This limits the products, stores, sales and new items you can find. Why miss out?

TheFind.com currently searches over 500,000 stores on the Web and finds over 150 million products – that is 5 times larger than most comparison shopping sites. We rank results by the best matches right on the first page, along with the top brands and stores for your search. With one click you can view sale or new items, easily save your favorites in a personalized list called “MyFinds”, or quickly e-mail products to friends.

The team at TheFind.com knows that even these huge numbers aren’t enough for some savvy shoppers – if you don’t find a product or store that you’re looking for, just let us know and we will add them.

I will dig a bit more into TheFind.com before commenting :)

I don't get it. We already have similar, established sites from Shopping.com, PriceGrabber, Shopzilla, Yahoo shopping, CNET, Froogle, and others. I don't see how this site is going to be different.

Hey guys. I just invented sliced bread. Ok, not really.

Well... It's always good to have challengers to big established players, isn't it ?

The approach of TheFind is different than Shopping.com, Shopzilla, Yahoo Shopping, as they doesn't rely on paid merchants but crawl all the web... So we can expect more offers, more products on their site than on their competitors...

But I think it will be tough for them to become a real out-sider to big ones.

I was just over at their search engine. Its overwhelming. Too much information. As a consumer, I just want an easy way to find the best price for a product and buy it.

TheFind provides too much useless data and not enough quality. I think their strategy is quantity and sacrifice quality. I think they will have problems getting consumers using it.

Later.
