Site updates (April 2008)

The last 2 months have been quite productive on the blog, with 18 published articles!! And I also found some time for a few updates on the rest of the site.

Wordpress 2.5.1

• I was a bit afraid remembering my painful upgrade to Wordpress 2.3, but the migration to Wordpress 2.5.1 went really smooth for me.
• The new admin design is ok, nicer than the previous old, still lacking some small but useful features available in 2.3. I’m not completely used to yet, and I really hope the 2.6 release will bring back the missing features and will polish the new ones.

WP-Lightview 2.3

• I have released a new version of my WP-Lightview plug-in for Wordpress, using the latest revision of the Lightview JS script.
• What I would like to do in the next releases is to enhance the Wordpress editor with an extension that will easily manage the Lightview code. With this extension, no need anymore to edit the HTML of the post to set up the classname and caption for the images.

A photo album of winter photographies

• … taken in the area of Grenoble with my new Canon EOS 40D.
• This album uses a new map feature, to highlight the position of each photo within the album. This map feature relies on Yahoo! Maps and the Lightview image overlay mechanism.

Update: Well, after all, the migration to Wordpress 2.5.1 was not that smooth – RSS feeds not working anymore :( A fix is available there and will be included in 2.5.2.
