Following the announcement of Windows Live Cashback, Microsoft has given some other news regarding its search and advertising strategies during its advance08 conference. News related to online shopping:

• Farecast – the travel search destination recently bought by Microsoft – is relaunched under the Windows Live moniker, as Windows Live Farecast. No changes in terms of features, just a new header and footer. No Farecast integration on Windows Live Search when searching for “flight boston london” yet, even if MS mentions in the press release that “Live Search Farecast results can be found [...] via Instant Answers in the main Live Search results page“.
• As explained in the press release, “Microsoft will explore the possibility of also incorporating an ad-funded rebate option for travel services in the future.“
