Site updates (November 07)

If you read this blog, I suppose you are either interested in my thoughts on comparative shopping / social shopping (the primary subject of this blog), or you are a friend of mine :)

First option, you probably don’t care about posts not related to shopping ; second option, you only care about those (rare) other posts. Difficult to please everyone, and I clearly don’t have enough time to feed two different blogs.

So I came up with the concepts of “Site updates” posts. Once a month, I will list all the changes brought to my site (digression on tech side of blogging, my new photographies online, new pages…) in posts entitled… “Site updates” :)

So my fellow readers, if you are only interested in shopping, you can skip those posts. The other ones, keep attention ;) (and of course let me know if you think it is a good idea or not, through the comments).

Here are the site updates for November:

• Upgrade to Wordpress 2.3.
  • It has been a painful experience to upgrade from Wordpress 2.2 to 2.3. I expected to have some troubles related to tag management (one of the big feature of 2.3), especially on the migration from Ultimate Tag Warrior to the in-built system. But it went fine. The issues came with the photo albums and photos, as apparently there are some changes in the way URLs are managed for pages in 2.3. The photo albums and photos have been unavailable for the past 2 days, the time needed to find a solution and discover how poorly implemented the pages are in Wordpress (see this ticket to convince yourself).
  • Everything is not fixed yet; and the tag pages for the photos are still broken :(

• New photographies online
  • I put online the first photo album of my recent trip to Costa Rica. This photo album covers the 3 first days we spent in Manuel Antonio National Park, on the Pacific coast.
