Photo n°3798 - Pancake Rocks

From Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand: "The Pancake Rocks at Dolomite Point are one of the best-known features of Paparoa National Park. They consist of layers of limestone, separated by softer mudstone which has eroded, making the rocks resemble huge stacks of pancakes. When the sea enters caverns below the rocks at high tide, spectacular plumes of spray burst through blowholes between the stacks."
